Even in an Americana-centric town like Santa Fe, I’m surely not the only one supremely stoked that Toronto’s mighty Broken Social Scene is poised to release their first new album in five years on May 4th. But the big news today is that, until its release, the long-awaited Forgiveness Rock Record (which features a much more stripped-down lineup than the dozens-strong versions of BSS we’ve come to love) will stream in its entirety on NPR’s website. Thank you, Matthew Dillon (an old friend of mine who is now in the religion PhD program at Rice) for this wonderful news. So far, Kevin Drew and Co. are delivering the swirling indie goods as usual.
Love me some BSS. Did you happen to catch Kevin Drew at the Boulder Theater last year? (Or maybe it was the year before…) Ah-maze-ing.
Nope, I believe that was the year before I moved to Boulder….but I did see the BSS Presents Kevin Drew tour at the Fillmore in San Francisco on that tour. Hope they come through Boulder/Denver again this summer…..
